Comment ISO 19770-1:2006 standard (SAM)!

Invitation to Comment: ISO Releases Exposure of Updated Software Asset Management Standard (See the concerning weblink)

ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 Working Group 21 released a working draft of a revision to the existing Software Asset Management standard (ISO/IEC19770‐1:2006). This update now incorporates new annexes with cross references to industry good practices – including COBIT. It also now allows for attainment in four tiers to facilitate the standards adoption. The tiers are linked directly to the processes described in the 2006 standard, providing greater accessibility to the standard and the newly incorporated annex guidance. This draft is only being made available to official ISO liaison organizations like ISACA. Special permission has been obtained from ISO for wider distribution of this draft than normally permitted by ISO standards development process. A copy of the draft is provided strictly for standards development purposes. Major changes in the body are highlighted in yellow.

To be considered, all comments from ISACA constituents must be submitted via the ISO comment form no later than 1 March 2011.
